Becoming
Montessorian is a membership programme, structured for Montessorian and Professional Development and as a pathway for experiential learning and wholesome growth. |

The
Program is designed for parents, teachers and trainers, principals and educators as well as administrators and para service providers.
It also provides transformational learning opportunities for those who possess
other disciplinary education and related Montessori experiences to be part of this development
process. This includes participants with Montessori qualification awarded by a local government approved institution. Entry level is based
on participants' prior learning and experience and their desired outcome of achievement.
Competency modules are conducted by MWI's Knowledge Partners or as accredted courses
offered by our Global Parnters Registry..

Enrichment : Introductory Montessorian Modular Education
- for parents
of young children keen to learn about child development and preschool education.
Individuals considering early childhood education as a career and wanting to gain

Competency
Level (I) : International Montessorian Certificate (IMC) or an approved equivalent course award
- for parents
and teaching assistants; teachers pursuing a career working with young children
and wishing to upgrade themselves by acquiring a qualification and technical knowledge,
and to be able to work under supervision in a Montessorian Environment as junior
teachers. |

Competency
Level (II) : International Montessorian Diploma (IMD) or an approved equivalent course award
- for parents
as teachers and junior childcare / school teachers to develop a higher level of
technical competency and to be able to work independently and effectively at a
more advance curriculum level as senior teachers. |

Competency
Level (III) : Professional Membership Higher Diploma or an approved equivalent course award
- for senior teachers and trainers to develop themselves to an advanced level
of technical competency and an added mind-set skill capable to be a supervisor
or trainer. On successful completion of CL III and training practicum, you are a qualified
as teacher /trainer and as a Certified Montessorian Professional
(on subscription of an Affiliation Plan) . |

Competency
Level (IV) : Professional Membership Graduate Diploma or an approved equivalent course award
-
for continual professional development and Montessorian Professionals seeking
higher competency and professional pathway to be a Certified Montessorian Educator. On successful completion of CL IV programme, you will be awarded the course diploma. On fulfillment of the internship you can subscribe to an Affiliation Plan and be recognised as Certified Montessorian Educator. |

Competency
Level (V) : Professional Practice Award Certification
On
successful completion of all study prerequisites or a major approved Research
Project or a practical internship based on a real project implementation, you are awarded the Practice Certificate as a Certified Montessorian Educator and eligible for a full Affiliation membership as Certificate Corporate. You are accorded the privilege to apply as a faculty panel member, mentor or examiner at the Montessorian World. |

Membership Competency Assessment and Montessorian Award.
This
Membership Format of Assessment is designed to determine the Competency Level of
skill, knowledge and aptitude of the participant. There
are five main categories of Competence Assessment and Award. Those who
have successfully completed their course of under the Montessorian and Professional Development Modules in their home country may also apply for a Direct Montessorian Competency Assessment
and receive Montessorian Membership Award.
Generally,
the Assessment of Competency Level I to III, the examination and review consists
of three parts,
a) a two hours written examination on Montessori Theory and
methodology, b) a comprehensive oral examination requiring precise presentation
and use of the teaching materials, and c) the completion and presentation of required
handmade curriculum materials.
The
Assessment of Competency Level IV to V, generally shall consist of research and
development, submission of an approved self contracted real
life project work and the successful implementation of it.
The
scope of assessment and the expectation to be achieved for each Competence Level
are detailed in the Montessorian Education Manual.
Practicum
and Internship
As
a form of internship program for potential teachers, teaching practicum can be
arranged at a Certified
Partners' schools. This program provides students the opportunity to observe children
and trained teachers at work. Guided training and supervision from the school
director and daily discussions. Trainers' Practium is separately designed for
observation of delivery skills and practices of effective training. Feedback will
be provided

Transnational Education Assessment and Montessorian Award.
This
Assessment of Montessorian Standard is designed to determine the Competency Level of
skill, knowledge and aptitude of participants who
have successfully completed their course of Montessori studies in other approved
institutions in their home country. These are generally at Competency Level 1 and 2, and in some special cases at Competency Level 3. The Competency Assessment
of Montessorian Standard will determine the equivalent Montessorian Competency Award.
Graduate Applicants who have completed their studies from other approved learning
institutions may also apply for a formal Reciprocity Assessment of their qualification and receive an equivalent Montessorian Membership Certificate Award. Applicants
under this route may have to attend an Induction programme or directed CPD courses
and pass the prerequisite assessment prior to the Montessorian Award.
Generally,
the Transnational Education Assessment of Standard is for Competency Level I to III.
It includes a comprehensive review of participant's prior learning and experience. Applicants will have ,
a) to attend a Montessorian Induction Seminar and Workshop.
b) to submit a Work Paper
c) to present his/her handmade curriculum materials.
The
Assessment of Competency Level is usually conducted twice a year.
The application can be submitted directly by the individuals or through the a Education Host.
The
scope of assessment and the expectation to be achieved for each Competence Level
are detailed in the Education Manual.
Practicum

As

The aim of this assessment is to determine the applicant's capability and aptitude as a Montessorian Professional to advance Montessorian World Education.
Highly experienced montessori-based educators or expert who by reason of advanced knowledge or competence can demonstrate
superior proficiency in as a Montessorian Educator or Provider of Montessorian
Education may apply for a Montesorian Certification Award.
Applicants
shall indicate which of the Entry Category they are applying for the membership
certification, namely,
a)
Mature Entry Route : Applicable for Academic and Educator,
including highly experienced Practitioner, School Owner / Principal.
b)
Specialist Entry Route : Applicable for Specialty Educationalist or Specialist Consultant
Applicants are not required to undertake the full Assessment of Competence
that applies to Standard Examination Entry Route but Applicants must complete
a modified process of assessment comprising
Stage 1
-
Review of career information and working experience submitted in the Application.
Information provided must be in detail as set out in Conditions of Membership
and comply with the Certification requirement. This review will decide whether
the various requirements have been satisfied and the eligibility of the Applicant to
proceed directly to the interview stage to determine the Competency Level for membership or to
undertake a modified Montessorian Development program before the Assessment.
Applicants may be directed to complete a CMP or CMEd Award Programme or Registry Certification Programme as the Board of Examination deems appropriate.
Stage 2
- Review of CMP or CMEd Project Document, if applicable
-
Panel interview during which Applicants are required to demonstrate their experience
and knowledge of their competency in Montessorian education and profession.
Applicants may be granted for CMP or CMEd Award as the Board of Examination deems appropriate.
Assessment
requirements
Specialist
Entry Applicants are required to demonstrate a greater level of practical experience
than Mature Route Entry candidates.
Specialist Entry Criteria Assessment is based on submission
of documented historical evidence of achievement and sociogenetic contribution
in the field of Montessori education and/or completion of related Montessorian
research and development project.

To be a Certified Montessorian Professional or Educator is by assessment of competency. For Mature Entry Route and Specialist Entry Route, applicants are required to complete a CMP or CMEd Award program or part of it at the discretion of the Education and Membership Board for the purpose of Assessment of Professional Competency. |
