Frequently
Asked Questions

How
are Montessori Teachers Trained?
"The secret of good teaching is to regard the child's
intelligence as a fertile field in which seeds may be sown,
to grow under the heat of flaming imagination. Our aim is
not only to make the child understand, and still less to
force him to memorize, but so to touch his imagination as
to enthuse him to his innermost core"
- Dr Maria Montessori

To
be a successful Montessorian one must be willing to open
up one's mind to possibilities and opportunities to improve
and enthusiastically developed self esteem, self discipline
and unconsciously sow a lifelong love of learning and responsible
individual. |

1.
Physically, Mentally and Spiritually prepared for the
task
" First remove the beam from your own eyes, then
you will see clearly
how to remove the speck from the eyes of a child"
- Dr Maria Montessori -
The preparation must come from within
. by her studying
of her own self
to eliminate the deeply rooted defects
such as
anger, pride
which hinder her understanding
of the child. A directress does not have to be entirely
free from fault and weaknesses as long as she is willing
to constantly seek and perfect her inner self.

Observation Skills
Another great aspect is the importance of observation for
all Montessorians, as Dr Maria Montessori said :
"The observation of the way in which the children pass
from the first disordered movements to those which are spontaneous
and ordered-this is the book of the teacher; this is the
book which must inspire her actions; it is the only one
in which she must read and study if she is to become a real
educator."
She is taught to be an alert and patient observer, waiting
for the child to review himself.

Hands on Practical Sessions.
"To
become acquainted with the material, a teacher should
not just look at it, study it in a book
Rather, she
must exercise herself with it for a long time, trying
in this way to evaluate through her own experience the
difficulties of, or the interests inherent in, each piece
of material that can be given to a child, trying to interpret,
although imperfectly, the impressions which a child himself
can get from it. Moreover, if a teacher has enough patience
to repeat an exercise as often as a child, she can measure
in herself the energy and endurance possessed by a child
of a determined age. For this final purpose, the teacher
can grade the materials and thus judge the capacity of
a child for a certain kind of activity at a given stage
of his development."

The transformation of a Montessori teacher with Montessorian World Education***
A true montessorian unveil herself when she procures the
following characters:
- The Mind of a Scientist as she derives not only the capacity,
but the desire to observe natural phenomena with a scientific
curiosity and respect of what she observed.
-The Love of a Saint, as she demonstrates her desire to
be pleasant and polite, to be passive more than active,
to be firm yet without anger, which enables her to hear
the inner call of a child.
- The Heart of a Servant, as she humbles herself to the
children, who are our future, and realize that they should
be served with love and respect.
